Texas Sandfest 2014

When was the last time you were a tourist in your own community? My sister and our families recently did just that! We traveled to the other side of our island to the Port Aransas Annual Sandfest We had a great, but exhausting time!

We saw some amazing driftwood sculptures (and yes, you know I’m going to try to create some of those!), and lots of other artists and vendors at the event. The festival featured eighteen master sand sculptors from around the world, as well as a many children and amateurs, put their creative skills to work to create the most artistic, imaginative sand sculptures. The sand sculpting portion is of course the main attraction. They had beginners, professionals, and even little wee-sculptors there. My sister, Michelle, took lots of photos! Of course, we pass on our respects to all the hard working artists (big & small) at this event and around the globe!

We encourage you to get out and enjoy some of the upcoming summer festivals and events in YOUR community!
