OMG! Look at this Shell! An Incredible 23 inches! The fabulous Australian Trumpet Shell made into a musical horn. Makes a super loud call- imagine any Mom with the best call in the neighborhood!
Syrinx aruanus, common name the Australian trumpet or false trumpet, is a species of extremely large sea snail measuring up to 91 cm long and weighing up to 18 kg. It is a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Turbinellidae, and is the only species in the genus Syrinx.
This is the largest living snail (shelled gastropod) species in the world, and arguably the largest (heaviest) gastropod in the world. Although the shell itself is quite well known to shell collectors because of its extraordinary size, little is known about the ecology and behavior of the species.
These shells are perfect for presentations at school, weddings, party accessories, and much more. They make great extraordinary gifts for Christmas & year round! The shells themselves are pretty amazing and our large shell horn measures approx 14-16″ & the Monster Size Horn measures a Whooping 22-24″- nearly 2 feet of shell! We have one uncut trumpet shell in stock as well, it’s a mammoth size of approximately 23″- very hard to come by!
We do carry other shell horns including two different conch shell horns. We only have one trumpet shell horn of each size offered in stock at moment, but we’re planning to make these a regular item soon. We do have the option of obtaining other sized trumpet shells- they are a special order.
