Remembering American Heroes

Everyone remembers where they were and what they were doing when American was attached on 9-11 years ago. I was at jury duty. I remember the panel was waiting for actual selection of the jury. I had went to use restroom,  and when I came out I glanced up at TV and saw the news. For a minute I thought it was a movie I hadn’t seen but I had an odd feeling.  I looked around at everyone and they were unaware of TV. Finally some man said, “hey- I think this is real”.  The entire room was silent instantly. Within minutes a court spokemen came out and said we were all dismissed and we had 8 minutes to evacuate the Federal Building. The drive home seemed longer as it was as I frantically listened to radio updates. I returned home just before the second plane hit the World Towers.
My kids were soon released from school and we watched the news for many days and weeks to come nearly non stop.
We all have our own stories and experiences. I pray for our country to never forget.   I also remember the change that took place in the hearts of American.  It was a change we all need to experience everyday in present and future.  We all had a sense of neighborhood and family closeness.  We all need to carry that spirit on to our future generation.
May you all reflect on the devastating events in your own personal way today and to come and continue to pull together.
God Bless America
